Runner Video
Abstract
Above is a link to the video midterm that i created. In my capstone IMM class i am building a prototype social runner app for iphone. This video is a trailer for that app that will help the public understand what my app does and how it can be used. It is supposed to be a little comedic, but at the same time get the point across. It starts with a normal average guy watching tv, but then he gets an alert saying that he has just been out run by his friend. It is not up to him to try and finish the race first or at least get ahead of him. He runs out the door and begins his run.
Production
I dont have much to say about production. Because of the time constraints i had to film with my iphone. I used final cut to do most of the editing and the addition of the audio. I tried making it black and white to try and hide the quality of the iphone, but realized i kind of like the black and white aspect of the video. I feel that it fits it well.
Reflection
As you know with the short amount of time i had to create this video due to my computer malfunctioning it was not what i really wanted. With that being said i am still very satisfied with how it turned out. I was able to get most, but not all, of the shots and angles i wanted in the video. One thing that i did not get to put back in was the timer and motion graphics. What i really wanted in the video was to be a timer behind the runner showing how far he is running along with how long he is running. Due to time constraints i didnt get the time to add it back in, but in my final that is definitely what will be added in. Also, this is only the first part of the video. For the final i will be adding in the reaction of his friend when he gets the alert that this runner sends him. Most likely he will be sleeping in another country, get the alert, and start running in the middle of the night. I want to give the video a comedic twist.
